In my immediate family circle right now we have a pregnancy, a major surgery, a member quarantined in a nursing home, and I’m in the middle of moving. In other words, a typical family facing an atypical world. The pandemic will test us. But yesterday – during a storm, no less – I found these blooms in a parking lot between a Covid closed bank and a burger joint operating by drive-thru only. Hope. Something pink, for goodness sake. Hope and good sense will be needed to guide our families through the coming months. Ladies – mothers, grandmothers, aunts – you know what to do. Our whole lives have prepared us for this. We are the ultimate survivalists, the consummate protectors. Stay safe. Enfold the children in hope.
